Hooray!<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Open the Task manager by pressing CTRL-ALT-DELETE and under the Processes tab find any instances of winword.exe and select &#8220;end process&#8221;.<\/li>\n<li>locate the WINWORD.exe file on your computer. For me it was located:<br \/>\nComputer&gt;&gt;Local Disk (C:&gt;&gt;Program Files (x86)&gt;&gt;Microsoft Office&gt;&gt;Office14<\/li>\n<li>Scroll down to WINWORD. Right click and then in the drop down menu click on &#8220;Troubleshoot Compatibility&#8221;. Select &#8220;try recommended settings&#8221;.<br \/>\nWindows will detect issues and in my case automatically set the compatibility mode to Windows XP service pack 2.<\/li>\n<li>It will then prompt you to &#8220;Start the Program&#8221;. You may get a UAC dialog asking if you want to allow changes to your computer. Click &#8220;yes&#8221;.<\/li>\n<li>Return to the troubleshooter dialog box and click through to finish. It also may ask if you want to save the compatibility settings for future use. Again, click &#8220;yes&#8221;.<\/li>\n<li>You are done.
